The Basics

1. What's changing for Delta and Northwest passengers right now?  
It's business as usual for Delta and Northwest passengers as we combine to create a premier global airline with a leading presence in the world's major markets and a best-in-class loyalty program. We're working hard to ensure that the merger is smooth, seamless and delivers even more benefits to you.

You may have noticed that Detla’s name and brand displayed with Northwest’s, and we are coordinating our flight schedules and policies for maximum customer convenience. Full integration of the companies will take time and will be completed through a thoughtful integration process over the next 12-18 months.

2. When will the merger be completed?  
The full integration of Northwest into Delta will take time and will be completed through a thoughtful integration process over the next 12-18 months. Right now, it's business as usual for passenger of both airlines.

3. Are Delta and Northwest one airline or two?  
Delta has acquired 100 percent ownership of Northwest and is in the process of fully integrating Northwest into the Delta family. The Northwest brand is gradually being phased out and replaced by Delta's name and brand. Delta and Northwest will continue to operate their own branded aircraft until the integration process is complete.

4. Where can I get the latest merger information?  
Visit delta.com and/or nwa.com for the latest merger news. If you're a frequent flyer member, update your SkyMiles profile information or WorldPerks contact information to ensure you receive the latest updates. You may also register to receive emails from either airline during the transition. Set your SkyMiles email preferences or visit nwa.com for more Northwest information.

Planning & Reservations

5. Where should I purchase tickets for future flights?  
For the time being, Delta and Northwest’s Web sites will continue to operate separately, as will the two airlines' reservations systems and frequent flyer programs. You can continue to purchase tickets as you've always done via delta.com or nwa.com.

6. Will my existing itinerary or reservation be impacted due to the merger?  
No, it's business as usual for Delta and Northwest passengers. You will not see immediate changes in your itinerary or reservations as a result of the merger.

Traveling & Check-in

7. Where should Delta or Northwest passengers check in and check baggage for flights?  
You should continue to check in, check baggage and do business directly with the airline you are flying just as you did before the merger. It is very important that you go to the correct terminal as Delta and Northwest facilities are sometimes located in different areas of an airport.

Delta and Northwest will gradually consolidate into a single location at each airport throughout 2009 and 2010.

In some airports, Delta and Northwest’s operations have been consolidated and only Delta ticket counters exist. If this is the case and you are flying on a Northwest ticket, you may check in at a Delta ticket counter. Terminal information is found on your itinerary at delta.com or via flight and gate status on nwa.com. You may also visit the airport website for additional information.

8. When my flight reaches its destination, at which terminal will it arrive and at which baggage carousel will my bags arrive?  
You and your checked bags will arrive at the terminal of the airline you are flying. If you're flying on Delta, you will arrive at the Delta terminal, and if you're flying on Northwest, you will arrive at the Northwest terminal. Baggage carousel information will be available in your arriving terminal.

9. How can I verify which airline is operating my flight?  
Customers seeking information on which carrier is operating a flight purchased from Delta or Northwest can check their flight itineraries at delta.com or nwa.com.

You can also find this information on your boarding pass. The term "Operated by" indicates the airline that is actually operating or flying the flight. Frequent Flyer

10. What's changing with the Delta SkyMiles and Northwest WorldPerks frequent flyer programs?  
First and foremost, your frequent flyer miles are safe and your status is secure. The Delta SkyMiles and Northwest WorldPerks frequent flyer programs are currently being aligned. To stay up-to-date on all program news and get an overview of what's happening in 2009, please visit delta.com/integrationtimeline.

The SkyMiles and WorldPerks Programs will eventually be consolidated into one best-in-class loyalty program later in of 2009.

Continue to enjoy the benefits of your SkyMiles or WorldPerks accounts as you do today. SkyMiles and WorldPerks members may continue to manage their accounts online and earn and redeem miles as usual.

If you have both a SkyMiles and WorldPerks account, you can now transfer your miles between accounts. This service is free and can be used as many times as you like.

Itinerary

11. Will my existing itinerary or reservation be impacted due to the merger?  
No, it's business as usual for Delta and Northwest. You will not see immediate changes in your itinerary or reservations as a result of the merger.

Booking

13. Where should I purchase tickets for future flights?  
You can continue to purchase tickets as you've always done via delta.com or nwa.com. For the time being, Delta and Northwest’s websites will continue to operate separately, as will the two airlines' reservations systems and frequent flyer programs.

14. Will the additional travel-related items I purchased with my flight (like trip insurance, hotel, car rentals, and event tickets) be honored for my upcoming trip?  
Yes. Your travel-related purchases are still valid, and it's business as usual for both airlines right now.

15. Will the special requests I added to my reservation (i.e. wheelchairs or unaccompanied minor assistance) be impacted for my upcoming trip? How do I make special needs requests in the future?  
It's business as usual and your reservation details will not be impacted. All Delta and Northwest tickets can be serviced by the airline from which you purchased your flight. As always, visit delta.com or nwa.com to manage your reservations and to request special services.

16. How do I redeem my Delta eCoupons and Northwest Airlines E-Certificates/Vouchers?  
The process has not changed. You may continue to redeem your Delta eCoupons at delta.com and your Northwest Airlines E-Certificates and Vouchers at nwa.com.

Check-in

17. Where should Delta or Northwest passengers check in and check baggage for flights?  
You should continue to check in, check baggage and do business directly with the airline you are flying just as you did before the merger. It is very important that you go to the correct terminal as Delta and Northwest facilities are sometimes located in different areas of an airport. Delta and Northwest will gradually consolidate into a single location at each airport throughout 2009 and 2010.

Terminal information is available on your itinerary and boarding pass. This information can also be found online at delta.com's Itineraries & Check-in and through Manage My Reservations at nwa.com.

18. Will I need to check in at a different terminal?  
All Delta and Northwest flights will continue to depart and arrive at their respective terminals. Check-in information will be provided to you when you purchase your ticket. Delta and Northwest will gradually consolidate into a single location at each airport throughout 2009 and 2010.

19. Do I check in online at delta.com or nwa.com?  
Check-in information will be provided to you when you purchase your ticket. You should continue to complete online check-in with the airline you are flying just as you did before the merger. Visit delta.com or nwa.com accordingly. Terminal and gate information is available at check-in and via flight and gate status.

20. Can I check in at a Delta ticket counter for my upcoming flight on Northwest and vice versa?  
In some airports, Delta and Northwest’s operations have been consolidated and only Delta ticket counters exist. If this is the case and you are flying on a Northwest ticket, you may check in at a Delta ticket counter. Terminal information is found on your itinerary at delta.com or via flight and gate status on nwa.com. You may also visit the airport website for additional information.

21. Do I check in at a Delta or Northwest kiosk for my flight?  
The process for checking in online or at a kiosk has not changed. Please continue to check in with the airline operating your flight. Your flight confirmation emails and itinerary will include check-in information. At airports where Delta and Northwest operations have been consolidated and the airlines’ kiosks are one and the same, you should continue to follow directions on the kiosk screen and check in with the carrier operating your flight.

22. How can I verify which airline is operating my flight?  
Customers seeking information on which carrier is operating a flight purchased from Delta or Northwest can check their flight itineraries at delta.com or nwa.com. You can also find this information on your boarding pass. The term "Operated by" indicates the airline that is actually operating or flying the flight. 23. Where do I check flight information?  
Visit your respective airline's website to check in and/or manage your reservations. Your terminal information for a Delta flight can be found at Itineraries & Check-in at delta.com or for a Northwest flight through Manage My Reservations on nwa.com.

24. How do I make changes to my Delta or Northwest ticket?  
Tickets can be serviced by the airline from which you purchased your flight. Visit delta.com or nwa.com to manage your reservations or request special services, call Delta Reservations at 1-800-221-1212 or Northwest Reservations.

25. How do I refund my Delta or Northwest ticket?  
To request a refund for your Delta ticket, visit Itineraries & Check-in at delta.com. To request a refund for your Northwest ticket, visit Manage My Reservations or contact Northwest Reservations.

26. How do I request upgrades? Has the upgrade process changed?  
The policies and procedures to request and receive upgrades have not changed. Visit delta.com or nwa.com for more upgrade information.

27. How will I receive flight updates for Delta and Northwest flights?  
Flight notifications & travel alerts will be provided by the operating airline of each flight. Please be sure to include your frequent flyer number and contact preferences in your reservations.

28. How do I sign up for or edit my subscription to Delta and Northwest flight notifications or travel alerts?  
Visit your respective airline's website to manage your emails and to sign up for Delta flight notifications or Northwest flight notifications.

29. What fees and policies will be in place for my upcoming flight?  
Delta and Northwest are working together to align policies and procedures. In the meantime, the operating airline's policies and fees apply to your flight and reservation.

Arrivals

30. When my flight reaches its destination, at which terminal will it arrive and at which baggage carousel will my bags arrive?  
You and your checked bags will arrive at the terminal of the airline you are flying. If you're flying on Delta, you will arrive at the Delta terminal, and if you're flying on Northwest, you will arrive at the Northwest terminal. 31. At which terminal will I arrive and at which baggage carousel will my bags arrive?  
You and your checked bags will arrive at the terminal of the airline you are flying. If you're flying on Delta, you will arrive at the Delta terminal, and if you're flying on Northwest, you will arrive at the Northwest terminal. Baggage carousel information will be available in your arriving terminal.

32. What should I do if I have or have had a problem with my checked baggage?  
Any baggage questions or inquiries should be directed to the Baggage Service Office of the airline operating your flight.

Fees & Policies

33. Have the baggage fees and general baggage policies changed with the Delta and Northwest merger?  
Delta and Northwest are working together to align policies and procedures for both airlines. The rules of the operating airline of your originating flight will apply. More information on these new and existing baggage policies may be found on delta.com and nwa.com.


LOUNGES

Membership

34. With the name changing on all the airport lounges to Delta Sky Club from Crown Room Club® and Northwest WorldClubs®, what is the impact on its members? 
There are no changes to Delta Sky Club (formerly Crown Room Clubs and WorldClubs) policies or member benefits at this time. You will continue to have uninterrupted access to our worldwide network of Delta Sky Clubs.

35. Will my WorldClubs/CRC membership cards still be valid? 
Yes. Your current membership card will continue to be valid through the end date noted on the card.

36. As a WorldClubs member, will I receive a Delta Sky Club membership number? 
Yes. As a part of the integration of the SkyMiles and the WorldPerks frequent flyer programs, each WorldPerks member will be assigned a SkyMiles account number by early 2010. This number will double as your Delta Sky Club membership number.

37. As a Crown Room Club® member, will I receive a new Delta Sky Club membership number? 
No. Existing Delta Crown Room Club members will keep their current SkyMiles numbers, which will double as their Delta Sky Club membership numbers.

38. Are memership fee changing? 
No. We recently aligned our fees, and no additional changes are anticipated at this time.

39. What other changes are coming for Delta Sky Club? 
Effective April 17, 2009 all Delta Sky Club members and guests will have access to complimentary WiFi throughout the domestic Delta Sky Club network. Throughout the remainder of 2009, the lounges will continue to offer existing amenities, including complimentary beverages and snacks, personalized flight assistance, and satellite TV. By early 2010, Delta plans to harmonize all Delta Sky Club offerings to provide customers one consistent service and product experience, adopting customer favorites from both lounge programs.

40. If I'm a WorldClubs member who previously renewed at nwa.com, will I now need to renew at delta.com instead? 
No. Current WorldPerks members should continue to renew their memberships at nwa.com/skyclub.

41. As an existing WorldClubs member, can I purchase a Delta Sky Club membership with miles? 
No. Miles earned with the Delta SkyMiles program are the only currency accepted to purchase Delta Sky Club memberships. As a WorldPerks member, you may link your WorldPerks and SkyMiles accounts and transfer the mileage required to redeem the membership of your choice. In order to take advantage of Elite WorldPerks member pricing—or if you've been a club member in the last six months—your membership can be processed at any Delta Sky Club location.

42. Will my Lifetime WorldClubs membership be honored by the new Delta Sky Club? 
Yes. All current WorldClubs membership types will be honored.

43. Can I call the WorldClubs Service Center with questions? 
As part of the integration, the WorldClubs Service Center will be closing. Please visit delta.com/skyclub or nwa.com/skyclub to purchase a new membership or to renew, and to see a list of club locations, amenities or other information about the club. If you need further information, please send us an email.

44. Can I still mail in an application? 
Yes. You can mail your application to the address noted online or you may purchase a membership at delta.com/skyclub or nwa.com/skyclub.

45. Where are the Delta Sky Clubs located?

46. Where are the former Northwest Airlines WorldClubs (now Delta Sky Clubs) located?

47. As a WorldClubs member, will I be able to access all the same lounges with a Delta Sky Club membership? 
Reciprocal access to Crown Room Clubs and WorldClubs has been in place since the Delta/Northwest merger, so you will still have access to all Delta and Northwest lounges and select partner lounges. Access to partner lounges is subject to change. Visit delta.com/clublocations for the most updated lounge access information.

48. Will some of the Clubs be closing? If the Clubs are "consolidating," does this mean they'll be more crowded? 
With the integration of Crown Room Clubs and WorldClubs, we are taking a look at each lounge to ensure we are located optimally in relation to Delta arrivals and departures. We are also evaluating traffic within each Club to ensure we have sufficient space to accommodate members. Going forward, we may consolidate select lounges, but will notify members as those decisions are made.

Timeline

49. When will all Northwest WorldClubs change over to Delta Sky Club? 
All WorldClubs will change over to Delta Sky Club by the end of 2009.

50. When will all Crown Room Clubs change over to Delta Sky Club?

We are integrating in-flight services for flights within the US 50 States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and plan to integrate services for other international flights in mid-2009.

My Account

58. Are my miles safe?  
Yes, your miles are safe. There is no change to your SkyMiles or WorldPerks accounts or miles. You may continue to earn and redeem miles with SkyMiles and WorldPerks as usual.

59. Will I be able to combine miles from my SkyMiles account and my WorldPerks account?  
If you have both a SkyMiles and WorldPerks account, now you can transfer your miles between accounts. This service is free and can be used as many times as you like.

60. I am currently a member in both frequent flyer programs. Will the miles I earn on my upcoming flights and partner activities be applied to my SkyMiles account or my WorldPerks account?  
During the transition period, SkyMiles and WorldPerks will remain separate and active programs. Flight mileage will be applied to the frequent flyer program account number saved within your reservation.

61. How do I update my SkyMiles or WorldPerks account information during the transition period?  
During the transition period, SkyMiles and WorldPerks will remain separate and active programs.

62. What phone number should I call for account information?  
SkyMiles members can contact the Delta SkyMiles Center at 1-800-323-2323 or the number on the back of their membership cards. 63. Will I continue to receive my monthly account information, summary and statements?  
Yes, both Delta and Northwest will continue to send mileage summaries as they have done in the past to those customers who have opted to receive their statement via email.

64. Will I be able to transfer miles between my SkyMiles account and my WorldPerks account?  
Yes. If you have both a SkyMiles and WorldPerks account, now you can transfer your miles between accounts. This service is free and can be used as many times as you prefer.

Benefits

65. As an Elite or Medallion member, will my upgrade benefits be valid on both Delta and Northwest flights?  
Yes, SkyMiles Medallion and WorldPerks Elite members will be eligible to receive upgrades on select Delta and Northwest-operated flights. For specific upgrade policies for each airline, please visit delta.com or nwa.com.

66. How, if at all, will my membership benefits change?  
We will keep all members updated regarding the transition to an integrated frequent flyer program. Update your profile to ensure you get the latest updates. To get more information, visit SkyMiles on delta.com or WorldPerks on nwa.com.

67. How, if at all, will my Medallion or Elite membership benefits change?  
We will keep all Medallion and Elite members updated regarding the transition to a merged frequent flyer program. For a complete list of all current Medallion or Elite membership benefits, visit delta.com or nwa.com.

Membership

68. As a WorldPerks member, should I open a SkyMiles account and vice versa?  
It is not necessary to open any new accounts. By the end of 2009, SkyMiles and WorldPerks accounts will be combined into one program. During the transition period, SkyMiles and WorldPerks will remain separate and active programs.

Award Travel

69. I have an upcoming Award trip purchased on Delta or Northwest. Are my ticket and trip still valid?  
Yes, all Delta and Northwest tickets are still valid. There is no need to reissue or make any other changes to your existing tickets unless your plans have changed.

70. Can I use my miles earned with the SkyMiles program to book Award Travel on nwa.com and my WorldPerks miles to book Award Travel on delta.com?  
Not exactly. However, if you have both a SkyMiles and WorldPerks account, you now can transfer your miles between accounts and redeem those miles for Award Tickets on either airline.

Earning & Redeeming Miles

71. Will I be able to earn and redeem miles in the same way as before the merger?  
Yes, SkyMiles and WorldPerks members may continue to manage their accounts online and earn and redeem miles as usual in both programs. This includes mileage earned and redeemed on Delta, Northwest, as well as our many SkyTeam and frequent flyer partners.

72. Will I be able to continue earning miles with Mileage or Program Partners?  
Yes. SkyMiles members will continue to earn miles with all existing partners. Visit delta.com for a complete list of all SkyMiles mileage partners. 73. Will I have to pay any additional fees when redeeming my miles?

Credit Card

74. I have a Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. What will happen to that card?  
There is no change to the Delta SkyMiles Credit Car from American Express or benefits. Continue to earn miles and enjoy all benefits of the card. Any earned miles will be valid in the integrated SkyMiles/WorldPerks program.

75. I have a WorldPerks co-brand credit and/or debit card. What will happen to that card?  
Going forward, the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express will be the official credit card of Delta and the SkyMiles program in the United States. For customers in Japan and the Philippines who have WorldPerks co-brand credit cards, these will be transitioned to Delta SkyMiles Credit Cards later in the year. SkyMiles Credit Cards are the only cards that offer mileage-earning opportunities with the SkyMiles program and a complete Delta experience with Award Travel opportunities throughout the world.

76. Are my miles safe?  
Yes, your miles are safe. There is no change to your SkyMiles or WorldPerks accounts or miles. You may continue to earn and redeem miles with SkyMiles and WorldPerks as usual.

77. If I open a SkyMiles account, what happens to my current WorldPerks account?  
There is no impact to your WorldPerks account or status. Rest assured that your WorldPerks miles and status are safe and you can continue to earn miles and Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) in the WorldPerks program.

78. Will my Northwest WorldPerks co-brand credit card automatically be converted to the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card?  
Going forward, the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express will be the official credit card of Delta and the SkyMiles program in the United States. For customers in Japan and the Philippines who have WorldPerks co-brand credit cards, these will be transitioned to Delta SkyMiles Credit Cards later in the year. SkyMiles Credit Cards are the only cards that offer mileage-earning opportunities with the SkyMiles program and a complete Delta experience with Award Travel opportunities throughout the world.

79. I am a Northwest customer. Can I apply for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card?

80. If I apply for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, can I choose to earn miles in the WorldPerks program?  
Miles earned with the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card will be SkyMiles. However, SkyMiles and WorldPerks members now have the ability to transfer miles free of charge between their respective accounts for redemption in either program.

81. Can I use my WorldPerks number when I apply for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card?  
The Delta SkyMiles Credit Card can only be tied to a SkyMiles account number. If you are not already a SkyMiles member, you will automatically be enrolled in the SkyMiles program when you are approved for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card.

82. If I get the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, will I have separate SkyMiles and WorldPerks numbers?  
Yes, until integrated in late 2009, SkyMiles and WorldPerks will remain separate and active programs and members will have different numbers for each program.

83. What if I don't have a SkyMiles account?  
You can join the SkyMiles program by visiting delta.com or when you are approved for a Delta SkyMiles Credit Card you will automatically be enrolled into the SkyMiles program and assigned a number.

84. I already have a SkyMiles account. If I get a Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, will the miles that I earn be deposited into my existing SkyMiles account?  
Your miles will be deposited into your existing SkyMiles account provided that you enter your SkyMiles account number in the designated field on the Credit Card application.

85. I have a SkyMiles account number but I forgot it. How can I find my account number?  
If you've forgotten or misplaced your SkyMiles number, call 800-323-2323 from within the U.S., the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Canada. From all other areas, call your local Reservations office.
